Since earning her doctorate in 2015, Emily has proudly had the opportunity to serve women in the Dallas area and empower them to make their own informed choices about their health. Emily’s experience also includes educating future nurses by teaching in the undergraduate nursing program at Baylor University. With an interest in improving international health for women, Emily has traveled to South Africa to study the HIV/AIDS pandemic in urban and rural communities, to India to speak and lead midwifery workshops about postpartum hemorrhage management, and to Mexico to develop a prenatal nutrition program and provide training for community workers to improve birth outcomes in the Maya population of the Yucatán. Emily loves the outdoors and adventure. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her eight children, experiencing new places, reading, and attending to her hobby farm.
